South Hedland is a suburb of the Town of Port Hedland (home to stunning beaches and world class fishing), in the Pilbara region in north-western Western Australia.
Port Hedland’s main industries are iron ore processing and salt production. South Hedland Aquatic Centre, which is currently undergoing a $10.5 million redevelopment, is located 700m from the motel. The centre will be transformed into a premier aquatic facility providing city-style amenities in the North-West.
Wanangkura Stadium (formerly known as Multi-Purpose Recreation Centre) is a 3 minute drive from the motel. The Centre features an international-standard indoor stadium with seating capacity of up to 404, external netball/basketball courts, gym and fitness rooms, squash courts, kiosk facilities, crèche, club change rooms and an upper level function area with views to the indoor stadium and the adjacent Kevin Scott Oval.
